With Google's increased emphasis on Core Web Vitals as ranking factors; I'm wondering how much of a focus SEO professionals should place on optimizing these metrics for better search engine rankings. While it's clear that page speed and user experience are essential, I'm curious about the balance between improving technical aspects of Core Web Vitals and other SEO elements like backlinks or on-page optimization.
In my experience; optimizing things like LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) and CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) has required significant changes to design and server configurations.
However, I've also heard that content relevance and link-building still carry more weight overall. Does focusing on MLOps Core Web Vitals alone provide a significant SEO boost, or should it be part of a more holistic strategy?
Has anyone tested the direct correlation between improving Core Web Vitals scores and actual ranking improvements? Would love to hear experiences and strategies others have used to balance these priorities.
